Victory at Sea
S01E24 THE ROAD TO MANDALAY: China, Burma, India, and Indian Ocean
In 1936, Japan launches an invasion of China, but their ambitions don't stop there. They extend their aggression into Indochina and Thailand, setting the stage for an invasion of Burma. Meanwhile, the U.S. and British Navies strengthen their alliance with the Indian Navy in preparation for their return. A decision is made to construct a road connecting to the Burma Road, and with the combined effort of manpower and elephants, they accomplish this feat. Ultimately, they "returned to Mandalay," delivering the first supplies along the newly built road to jubilant crowds of Chinese supporters.
