Thomas Culpepper, the latest addition to Henry VIII's staff, can’t help but flirt with the King’s youthful wife, Katherine Howard. Encouraged by her maid, he contemplates a romantic pursuit. Meanwhile, as the King retires early, revealing his age during the Christmas festivities, the younger members of the court take the opportunity to indulge in their own revelries, leaving behind the more serious matters of the realm.
