As Lorenzo starts to exhibit troubling signs of a grave illness, his political adversaries seize the moment to undermine him, casting doubt on the legitimacy of Medici Bank's funds. Among them is Tommaso Peruzzi, a former ally turned rival, who is determined to expose a scandal that could lead to the Medici's downfall.
