S06E06 A Poached Ego!
As our heroes make their way to Rustboro City, Ash is eager for his first genuine gym battle in Hoenn. Meanwhile, Team Rocket is on the same route when they come across a cage filled with Ekans. Jessie is thrilled, believing their job is done, and commands Arbok to attack. However, Arbok hesitates, unable to harm the trapped Ekans due to its own past. Jessie shows understanding, and James faces a similar dilemma when they discover a cage of Koffing that Wheezing refuses to hurt. The cages belong to a poacher named Rico, who sends his Fearrow and Pupitar to fend off Team Rocket. Upon returning, Team Rocket decides to rescue the Ekans and Koffing, but things take a turn for the worse when Rico's Pupitar evolves into a Tyranitar, forcing Team Rocket to make a heartfelt sacrifice for the Pokémon they care about.
