Their inquiry into Sutton's dealings directs them to Nick Lawson, a subject of Sutton's scrutiny regarding illicit trades, who claims innocence about Sutton’s fate. Meanwhile, Stella and Flack probe the tragic death of Trina Rolston, a young pregnant woman who plummeted from a church rooftop. With Hawkes' assistance, Stella uncovers that Trina's body was staged to conceal the real cause of death. The detectives soon find a link between the two investigations.
