As Ross gears up for his deployment, he teams up with 1 Royal Anglian for training amidst the frigid British winter on Salisbury Plain. They prepare for the challenges awaiting them in Afghanistan, focusing on convoy protection and helicopter deployments from Chinook aircraft. During one training exercise, Ross's unit faces an attack, and he and a few others are informed they've been 'killed' in action, a stark reminder of the reality they will soon confront. Just three months down the line, Ross will find himself in a similar situation for real.
