As the Sterlings navigate their new existence in a parallel universe, they discover that the locals are actually androids. Unaware of their true nature, Trace becomes infatuated with a young android named Nova. Faced with the impending threat of capture by the Zone Troopers, Nova must assist the Sterlings in fleeing to the Forbidden Zone. However, she grapples with a difficult choice: to join the Sterlings in their escape and abandon her own family, or to let Trace continue his journey without her by his side.
