An incident involving the experimental diamond mining machine, the Gemkat 6000, transforms the violent convict Rex Shard into a massive crystalline being capable of turning anything he touches into crystal. This newfound power is just the start of his rampage. Driven by a thirst for vengeance, Shard targets Warden Cyrus Meece, whose greed contributed to his accident, along with Dr. Greenbox, the machine's creator. As he wreaks havoc and crystallizes everything in his path, the SWAT Kats must race against time to find a solution to reverse Shard's transformation before chaos ensues.
