High King Uther casts out his son, Arthur, who stumbles upon a gravely injured boy named Derfel and decides to save him. Arthur hands Derfel over to Merlin and Nimue for care. As time passes, Uther welcomes a new heir, but Merlin is haunted by a troubling vision about what lies ahead.
