Lady Ellen transforms the Great Hall of Hoxley Manor into a makeshift hospital, assisted by the land girls, when she unexpectedly encounters Dr. Channing, a figure from her past. Meanwhile, at Pasture Farm, Joyce anxiously awaits updates on John, who is thought to be missing in action. In a drunken mishap, Finch crashes his vehicle into Mrs. Gulliver's garden, creating chaos. Just when Joyce’s spirits seem low, a telegram arrives with uplifting news: John is alive.
