Ben Greene, injured and on the defensive, faces accusations of cattle theft. He strongly maintains that he purchased the animals legitimately and insists his brand release is back at his cabin. The accusers are shady figures that Johnny and Dan are wary of. As the story unfolds, various characters embark on quests to find witnesses and gather evidence, ultimately leading to a resolution where justice is served.
