Lucious Lyon, the dominant force in the music industry for years, faces a turning point when he discovers he is seriously ill. This revelation forces him to decide which of his three sons—Andre, Jamal, or Hakeem—will inherit his empire. The situation becomes even more complicated with the return of Cookie, Lucious’ ex-wife and their mother, who has just been released from prison and is determined to stake her claim in the family business.
