In 1999 Rio de Janeiro, a young man from a middle-class background succumbs to the grip of drug addiction, prompting his father, a dedicated policeman, to venture into the slums to save him. Victor, a father committed to combating the drug crisis, finds himself increasingly at odds with his son Pedro, who continually struggles to overcome his addiction. As they find themselves on opposing fronts in this ongoing battle, their once-strong relationship begins to deteriorate.
