A middle-aged teacher, Adam Miauczynski, despises his life, everyone around him, and himself. Returning from Marek Koterski’s earlier films, this 49-year-old recites poetry in class, then goes home cursing and insulting his neighbors. Living feels unbearable, each new five minutes a torment. He rejects himself, and ordinary interactions spark his rage. Though he longs for romantic love, he lacks the courage to pursue it. Miauczynski’s desperation mirrors our own fears and fixations, now more visible than ever.
