Memory Lane

Nearly fifty years have passed since Jaap and Maartje first came together. Jaap, a grumpy old soul, has lost much of his zest for life, while Maartje, despite her occasional confusion, still greets each day with enthusiasm. When a letter arrives from an old holiday acquaintance, Maartje persuades her reluctant husband to drive south and visit him. Climbing into their aging car, they set off across a Europe transformed by time—bickering as they go, yet unearthing shared memories along the way. As the journey unfolds, Jaap slowly realizes Maartje’s forgetfulness points to dementia. Facing an uncertain future, they rediscover the love that binds them.
