I Need That Record!

Guerilla filmmaker Brendan Toller presents I NEED THAT RECORD! THE DEATH (OR POSSIBLE SURVIVAL) OF THE INDEPENDENT RECORD STORE, a heartfelt tribute to a fading culture. This engaging documentary blends sharp humor and honest reflection as it delves into the reasons behind the closure of around 3,000 indie record shops in the last decade. Through revealing interviews, poignant stories from record store owners, striking statistics, and vibrant animation, the film tackles issues such as corporate greed, media consolidation, and technological advancements in the music scene. Featuring voices like IAN MACKAYE, NOAM CHOMSKY, and THURSTON MOORE, it poses the question: big corporations or beloved record stores?
