Jane Elliott is an American educator renowned for her work in diversity training. She gained prominence as a schoolteacher when she introduced the "Blue eyes/Brown eyes" exercise, first implemented with her third-grade students on April 5, 1968—the day following Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. This classroom experiment was captured on film in 1970 and became the documentary *The Eye of the Storm*. In 1985, the PBS series *Frontline* broadcast "A Class Divided," an episode that reunited the original 1970 class and highlighted Elliott's later diversity work with adults.
