Pia Bajpiee

Pia Bajpiee hails from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh, but her ambitions pointed far beyond her hometown. At eighteen, she moved to Delhi, enrolling in a computer science diploma against her parents' wishes. To fund her studies and build a portfolio, she took on odd jobs, including reception work and tutoring. Yet, the predictability of office life soon chafed, and within a year, she packed her bags for Mumbai, financing the move herself.

Her early days in the city were spent as a dubbing artiste for television serials, a role she found uninspiring. Seeking a more creative outlet, she pivoted to modelling, landing print campaigns, commercials, and music videos. Her profile rose significantly when she appeared in advertisements alongside prominent figures: a Cadbury ad featuring Amitabh Bachchan and a Sonata campaign with cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. These high-profile spots caught the attention of acclaimed director Priyadarshan, who cast her in a commercial he was directing. That collaboration became her springboard, opening the door to a career in feature films.
