Shaun Chen embarked on his career as a model, catching the eye of Mediacorp through his numerous billboard advertisements, including his prominent role as the face of Maxis, Malaysia's leading telecommunications company. This modeling background laid a solid foundation for his transition into hosting and acting.

Shaun made his on-screen debut with his charming presence on the popular variety show, City Beat. His engaging personality quickly endeared him to Chinese drama producers, leading to significant roles such as an entrepreneur in City Heroes. His portrayal of "Xiao Xin," a successful businessman grappling with temporary memory loss in the acclaimed 100-episode series Holland V, solidified his status as a household name.

Over the years, Shaun has starred in a diverse array of leading roles across many Mandarin dramas, including the joint-production Yummy Yummy, a collaboration between MediaCorp Studios and Hong Kong’s TVB, and the highly-rated C.I.D in 2006, which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Star Awards, Singapore's prestigious television awards.
