Carita
Carita Järvinen (20 May 1938 – 22 January 2022) was a prominent Finnish-born French fashion model and actress, known simply as Carita in the entertainment world.
Carita launched her modeling career in her native Finland during the late 1950s, quickly gaining recognition for her striking looks. In the 1960s, she relocated to Paris, where she became a sought-after model for illustrious fashion designers, including the legendary Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Karl Lagerfeld. Her presence graced numerous high-profile fashion shows and campaigns, earning her a reputation as a top model of her time.
In addition to her modeling success, Carita made her foray into acting with her debut in the 1962 French film "Lemmy pour les dames," part of the popular Lemmy Caution series. Her notable performance came in 1967 when she portrayed Queen Salina in the Hammer film "The Viking Queen." This role was met with critical acclaim, showcasing her talent on the silver screen. Despite her promising start in acting, Carita chose to step away from the film industry and declined two offers for roles in James Bond films in the years following her breakout performance.
