Esmeray Diriker, known mononymously as Esmeray, was a pioneering Afro-Turkish performer who left an indelible mark on music, theater, and film in Turkey. Born in 1949, she rose to prominence in the 1970s with a powerful voice and magnetic stage presence that defied cultural norms. Her career breakthrough came with the hit song "Unutama Beni" (Don't Forget Me), which became an enduring classic and showcased her soulful blend of Turkish folk and pop influences.

Beyond her musical achievements, Esmeray was a versatile actress who graced both stage and screen.
