David Rubin
David Rubin embarked on his professional journey as a production assistant on the iconic show "Saturday Night Live." His foray into casting began as he worked under famed casting director Mary Goldberg on acclaimed films such as "Ragtime," "Silkwood," and "Amadeus." Seeking greater opportunities, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he collaborated with the esteemed Lynn Stalmaster on projects including "The Name of the Rose" and "The Big Easy."
Establishing his own casting agency, David curated the talent for a myriad of notable films, including "The Addams Family," "Fried Green Tomatoes," "My Cousin Vinny," "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "Get Shorty," and "The English Patient." His partnership with Richard Hicks led to successful collaborations on "Hairspray," "Lars and the Real Girl," and HBO's "Recount," for which they were honored with an Emmy Award in 2012. More recently, David contributed his expertise to Jean-Marc Vallée's film "Wild" and Warren Beatty's untitled project about Howard Hughes.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the industry, David received the Hollywood Film Festival Award for Outstanding Career Achievement in Casting in 2001, presented by the legendary Sydney Pollack. Furthermore, in October 2002, he was honored with an Honorary Career Achievement Award from the Casting Society of America, presented by renowned director Baz Luhrmann.
