Aashiq Abu, born on April 12, 1978, is a multifaceted talent in Malayalam cinema, wearing the hats of director, producer, actor, and distributor with equal finesse. Rising to prominence with a string of critically acclaimed films, he has carved a niche for himself as a storyteller who blends realism with commercial appeal.

His directorial ventures include the quirky comedy *Daddy Cool* (2009), the heartwarming *Salt N' Pepper* (2011), the gripping thriller *22 Female Kottayam* (2012), the nostalgic *Idukki Gold* (2013), the soulful *Mayaanadhi* (2017), and the medical drama *Virus* (2019).
